Autumn 1 Learning

Lesson: Curriculum

Class: Year 3 Year: 2026 - 2027

What a fantastic start we have had to Year 3! Here is just a snippet of some learning we have done over the last 8 weeks. We have been working incredibly hard and had lots of fun along the way! We have been focussing a lot on our times tables in maths - we got creative and made our 10 x tales into McDonalds chips! It did make us very hungry though! We have also been looking at place value, partioning our numbers using part whole models focussing on 2 and 3 digit numbers to understand the values of each digit.

In Science, we have been looking at movement and nutrition where we have looked at the different bones in our bodies along with what we need to have a balanced diet and stay healthy! We completed an experiment measuring the different bones in our body and ordering them from smallest to largest!

We have also took part in the National Literacy Trust where the British Council aimed to set a new GUINNESS WORLD RECORD title for the most people reading online in 12 hours. The record attempt is part of the Take 10 to Read campaign in the National Year of Reading 2026.

A great start to the year everyone!
